Watch | Nearly two-km wide asteroid zooms past Earth, caught on camera

 

A nearly two-kilometer-wide asteroid safely zoomed past Earth as it flew at a staggering speed of 47,196 kilometers per hour. The Virtual Telescope Project caught the near-Earth object as it swung past the planet from a distance of just 40,24,182 kilometers on its way to the Sun.
